Planning & construction updates

December 2022--

The redevelopment of the Harbourside Shopping Centre (2-10 Darling Drive, Darling Harbour) is part of the overall rejuvenation of the Darling Harbour precinct. Site establishment activities will commence shortly including site establishment, hoardings, and wayfinding signage. You will start to see these works occurring around the site during December 2022. May 2022--

In May 2022, Mirvac submitted the 1st SSDA, being for civil works, comprising basement retention structure and excavation.



December 2021--

In December 2021, following an International Design Excellence Competition Mirvac appointed Snøhetta+Hassell Studio to lead the design for the proposed new precinct.



June 2021--

In June 2021, the Independent Planning Commission approved Mirvac’s Stage 1 State Significant Development Application (SSDA) (SSDA 7874) for the redevelopment of the existing Harbourside Shopping Centre. As well as defining the permissible building envelopes for the future detailed SSDAs, it also approved demolition of the existing shopping centre which we expect to commence in late 2022 / early 2023.
